Monte della Formica is a small hill, rising near the residential area of Monte Vidon Combatte, in a lightly developed area where where the spontaneous vegetation—evergreen shrubs and pines—creates a captivating natural environment.
From this vantage point, visitors can admire a wide view that encompass the Sibillini Mountains and the Adriatic Sea, making it an ideal destination for walks and light excursions.
The curious toponym “Monte della Formica” may, according to some hypotheses, derive from the presence of earthen holes used as cinerary deposits, similar to those found in the territories of Monterubbiano and Carassai, which share a similar hill morphology.
